Sportsbook Review – betjamaica.com
——————————-
The home page for “The Player’s Paradise” (as betjamaica.com likes to call itself) greets me with the urge to grab a virtual broom and start sweeping up. It’s not terribly cluttered, but it’s certainly busier than it needs to be.
Sure, I’m able to find to find the toll free phone numbers, the member log-in and the links to the book’s rules and participation info. There’s also live chat support (which conveniently tells me that it happens to be offline, thus saving me an annoying click-through), a link to reviews, a scrolling chalkboard of events available for action, a banner ad with a 100% deposit bonus offer for basketball bettors, a big “Join Now” button, a time zone utility, an animated ad image featuring more bonus incentives and a solitary hot blond chick that keeps changing her hot clothes, and a graphic in the upper-left corner displaying various awards that betjamaica.com has earned.
Funny, but not one of those awards appears to be the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, and that’s probably because everything I just listed appears above the fold on the home page!
My first click deeper into the site takes me to their lines page, and this is refreshingly clean and easy to navigate. So is the Odds and Limits page, and every other non-home page at the site.
Some nitty-gritty that I’m able to quickly glean: all four NFL divisional playoff game sides and totals cost 20 cents (ouch), the MLB lines are fairly generous between $1.90 and $2.05 (nice), the parlay and teaser odds are average to mediocre (ehh), and the limits are fairly low ($5K NFL; $3k NCAA Football / NBA / MLB; everything else even lower). Their phone access also cuts off after 12am Monday through Sunday. However, this book does offer a bunch of cool bonuses, rebates and other interesting novelties.
So I’m a bit torn. betjamaica.com is a mixed-bag for value, but appears to be a decent choice for variety and ease-of-use — once you get past the home page, that is. I rate it a 3.9 on a scale of 1-5.
